The Linear Recoil Device (LRD) MKII is a recoil management system that mounts to the underside of your rifle, improving shot control and keeping you on target through the inevitable rifle recoil.
The LRD applies a linear, ‘straight line’, recoil path, so you can spot your own trace and impact.
This effect is most pronounced with a solid rear stabilisation system, like our own Fortis rear rest which is built for exactly this purpose.
Muzzle brakes cut felt recoil and pads soften it. Neither fully stops the rifle from twisting, jumping, or lifting off target. The LRD does something different, it directs recoil ‘straight’: a low-friction sled lets the rifle track dead straight rearward, so the reticle stays on target through the shot. You spot your own trace and impact instead of guessing where it went.
Follow-up shots are faster, and more importantly, they’re repeatable.
We offer two spring systems with the LRD, light for 6.5 Creedmoor and below and heavy for larger calibres. With the new MKII springs can be changed over in minutes. (See our written and youtube instruction video).
The LRD mounts to both Picatinny and ARCA Swiss systems and integrates into most modern precision rifle setups. Tested up to .33 XC and .375 Cheytac, with some shooters successfully running it on .50 calibre builds. Tested with rifle weights up to 14.8 kg, as standalone devices.
The LRD can also be used on tripods, ensuring rifles are placed at their balance point and using the heavy spring.

Note on use with BipodeXT
When using The LRD with a BipodeXT please ensure that The LRD is fixed to your bipod (not inbetween your rifle and the BipodeXT). Additionally, when using with a bipod XT, it is our experience that forces from cantilever extensions can add friction to the LRD. When using a Bipod XT, there is a bit of experimentation to achieve optimal results. Also ensure the correct weight category Bipod XT is used for your rifle.
